Fishing in Őrség

In Őrség, and a little bit further from it’s forests you can find a few natural and artificial fishing lakes. The lakes and rivers offer a diversity of fish in beautiful surroundings. Here are some of them:

The Lake of Csesztreg

In the end of the Csesztreg village (about 10 km from Nemesnép), next to the football pitch, an almost 4.5 ha fishing lake is located. Amur, carp and zander can be find in its waters.

The fishing lake of Lendvadedes

About 15 kilometers from Nemesnép, in Lendvadedes a 1 ha fishing lake can be found, where you can enjoy your favourite sport from the shore or from a boat. Fish: carp, grass carp, bream, crucian carp, pike.

Sárberki fishing lake

20 kilometres from the Hotel, next to Lenti you can find pit lakes on almost 6 ha area, which have very good water quality. In this wonderful surrounding you can fish from the shore or piers, during the whole year. Several fishing contests take place here. Fish: carp, grass carp, pike, perch, catfish, bream, crucian carp, perch, catfish, sunfish.

The lake of Sziget Horgászegyesület

In Kissziget, the 15 hectares big reservoir, offers to anglers carps, pikes, perches, breams and crucian carps.

The Vadása lake

The lake of Hegyhátszentjakab is connected with 12 crystal clean springs. It is a frequent place for trips, fishing, swimming and camping, as well as it is a home of several rear water birds.

The lake of Himfa

In the neighbourhood of Felsőmarác, in a 92 hectares park forest, a 12 ha big fishing lake is hidden – one of the most favourite ones in this area. It is not only a perfect spot for fishing, but also hiking and bonfire. Fish: pike, carp, bream and other fish species.

The Maróci Lake

Between Lispeszentadorján, Kiscsehi and Maróc villages a 12 ha lake is hidden. One of its shores is covered with trees and bushes, the other with reed and bulrush. Besides prohibited periods, it is allowed to fish also at night. Fish: carp, grass carp, pike, perch, bream, crucian carp, catfish.

Lake of Kistolmács

Near the road, connecting Lenti and Bázakerettye there is a fishing lake of 11 hectares, where you can also take a deep into the water and hike a bit. The Csömödér narrow-gauge railway also leads over there. Fish: pond, grass carp, pike, perch, catfish, bream and crucian carp.

Mura river

The depth of the rives changes, the bottom is covered with sand and gravel, in some places fallen trees create obstacles, and the shore is decorated with willows and alder forests. On the almost 40 km long Hungarian part of the river you can fish for carp, grass carp, pike, perch, catfish, bream, crucian carp, balin, perch, barbel, trout, sturgeon, perch, chub.

Lakes of Szajk

Between Hosszúpereszteg and Mikosszéplak, surrounded by forests, in a quite rural area a swimming lake and two fishing lakes are hidden. Carp, grass carp, pike, perch, catfish, bream, crucian carp, and pike can be caught in this nearly 2 ha lake.
