Where and how to hike with my dog?

The Őrség region is famous for its unique hiking tracks, where alone or together with your family, in fact, even with your dog you can enjoy the untouched nature. Further information about hiking routs is available on  www.orseg.info.hu

If you decide to hike with your dog, you should highly consider when the hunting season starts , than it is important to keep your pupil on leash. If you would have any doubts, our colleagues at the Reception Desk are at your service!

Before hitting the road, you should also keep in mind the tick-treat, not only in forests! You can find more information on ticks in Hungary on the website: www.kullancsterkep.hu
Nevertheless, if your dog was bitten by a tick, you can ask our colleges for tick tweezers. In this way you can easily take out the parasite.

On the other side of the boarder – with your dog

173 km from Nemesnép, in Austria you can find the Bärenschützklamm The Bears Canyon, a beautiful spot for hiking, where you can not get bored. We recommend this place to experienced dogs and owners as the rout is steep and challenging. There are also few suspension bridges to make the track even more exciting.

In Slovenia we recommend you the beautiful Bled, where you can do some boating or simply hike, or together with your dog seize the nearby castle.

6 km from Nemesnép in Szentgyörgyvölgy, you can findthe Dog & Coach Learn Center.
The founder of the school - Maria Hödlmoser – is not only a big lover of animals, she has also graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna, as a trainer so she has all the necessary skills to teach your pupil. Solo or in group, beginner or advanced – the school awaits you (worth taking under consideration, especially if you are planning a longer stay with us).

If there is an emergency…

We highly recommend Dr. Szilárd Köppel  who is an outstanding vet. His practice is located in Lenti, only 20 km from the hotel. In case of emergency, he can also do a home-visit, and has access to all the medicaments your dog would need, so you mustn’t search for pharmacy.
